I love my camera. It was a birthday gift and has been with me ever since. I think I still have film in my film camera, which I haven’t used since December 2004, when I went digital. Now, my digital camera needs help.
I am getting the apparently common E18 (error), meaning that my zoom will not retract or extend. After searching online for help, I have been able to get the zoom to fully extend (before it was half in, half out). But that is all. I have tried to straighten the zooming lenses, and turned them until I heard the “click” of realignment, but that is all.
I know I should get a better camera, but the fact is, I like this one. I like its size, its shape and the way it functions (normally). I could use greater zoomage, but I like stowing the camera in a little bag or coat pocket, which I wouldn’t be able to do if it were any larger.
So it might be off to a fix-it place near Union Square, something I should have done a month ago when the problem started. For now I’ll just have to use a school camera (but a little one because the big and really good ones are reserved for the photo class because I guess the rest of us aren’t smart or responsible enough to use them). Gotta get my jab against the admin. in somewhere! Heh.
Oh PowerShot A75, come back to me, little friend.
This did happen once before, but somehow it fixed itself.
So, if there’s anyone out there and who knows how to fix this, please don’t hesitate to tell me! Thanks!
