So I’m at Dive Bar on Amsterdam Avenue at 96th Street, a place I really love for their chicken fajitas, hot wings and football offerings! Oh, and their beers and ciders are wonderful, too.

Anyway, all of the sudden fall came. Officially, it does not come until Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, but yesterday I woke to 60 degree temperatures, which I did again today. In my thermal shirt and sweatshirt, I headed outdoors to enjoy the change.

The leaves in Manhattan and Brooklyn have started changing, drying and falling.

So I love fall.

I love wearing shorts during the day and changing into warmer clothes at sundown. I love cool, sunny days; love wearing light jackets; even love cold rains falling on yellow and orange leaves on the ground. I can cook in my kitchen without the apartment becoming 100 degrees again. I can drink hot tea and coffee without sweating again. I need my blanket and my quilt.

For the first time since 2004, I am back in school in the fall, and that feels right.

The football season has started again, leaving (week 2) the Steelers 2-0 and the Jets 0-2. (I am a Jets fan, while my Pittsburgh-native boyfriend is a fan of the Steelers — Nov. 18, 2007 they play each other!)

So even though I am actually a little sick today (and shivering), I am happy that I need a long-sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt.
I should be writing an article for tomorrow and editing a profile for tonight, but clearly I’m not. Shhh, don’t tell my professors!
