Hi Susan,
I have a number of HDR photographs of Green-Wood gravestones located on my photo blog. It may be possible that I have an image of the Pollock grave site. Maybe you could take a look and verify.
Thanks...

GOOD RIDDANCE to the Strand! I live directly behind it, and will be thrilled to no longer have bacon and hamburger smoke billowing into my window at all hours of the day and night. I also ate at the place place once before living in my current apartment, and it was TERRIBLE! Lipstick on the coffee cup and hair in my omlette. It was dirty just in general. I would never have gone back even if their vents weren't smoking me out of my living room half the time! I just hope whatever they build there is attractive and doesn't block too much of my sunlight.

Congrats on turning that in, dude--that must be a huge weight off your back. Hopefully it will turn out as well as the history thesis did (Distinction!).

I still get comments about having too many typos on my papers.

Couple quick facts for you...

A) No, Strand diner did NOT own the building. They leased it from a chinese firm that moved many years ago up amsterdam (the fish market) but retained ownership of the building.

B) No Strand diner did not bother to pay their rent.

C) The building is being taken down to be wastefully replaced by a 10 story / 10 unit condo with no slated retail space

D) There is plenty of development left for 96th...I assure you
